SEPTEMBER 2021
This month's image is a color image from the Palouse, in Eastern Washington state.
In the fall of 2014 my friend, Rick, and I spent some time in Eastern Washington. We photographed an interesting geological area called the Scablands, and the wheat fields of the Palouse. This area is America's bread basket, with miles and miles of wheat fields covering the rolling hills. It's colorful in the spring, turns from green to golden, and then is harvested in the fall. As the interest to me is line and form, this area was perfect to shoot in infrared. As a matter of fact, the entire Calendar for 2015 consisted of infrared shots of the Palouse and the Scablands.
Here is the link to that calendar:

While this month's photograph is in color, the interest is form and line, not color. Still I liked the contrast of yellow and brown. It is the only color shot I really liked from these areas.
Below are some of the infrared shots from the Palouse. Have a favorite? Think one would be better in color? Let me know!
Have a fun Labor Day, and see you next month.
Sylvia
My favorite is the cover photo ❤💕💖😍
ReplyDeleteI have always been partial to black and white. Several lifetimes ago I worked as a documentary photographer. The stark qualities of a colorless image helped the viewer to focus on the story contained in a single frame.
